 LAND USE: Redevelopment includes: a multi-story senior housing building that is being developed by Southwestern Community Services; a four-story mixed use commercial and residential condominium building that will house medical offices, commercial/retail space, and residential condominiums; and a 90 room Marriot Courtyard Hotel. Redevelopment of the rail yard has also led to Southwestern Community Services buying approximately 33,000 square feet of the adjacent former Wright Silver Polish buildings. Southwestern Community Services has moved their headquarters to this building which will also house their Head Start Program. A portion of the building is also occupied by Monadnock Developmental Services, who provide training to individuals with developmental disabilities so that they can work in the food service/restaurant industry.

A property located on a bank of the East River and in a densely developed residential and commercial area, had its work cut out for it from an environmental remediation standpoint. The mission was to clean up the land and ultimately make one puzzle piece to a larger urban revitalization project that would be redeveloped as a public library and park ranger station.
