Not all green roofs are created equally. Designing a green roof for maximum storm
water absorption may be quite different than one where daily use as garden
space by tenants is the primary goal. It's not only about the design but about
the professionals hired to execute the plan. But first, deciding how your green
roof will be used and what you want to accomplish is imperative. This task should be determined early in the process before making any design
decisions. Front end loading the design will save time and design fees and

should be used in the design. Typically the architect consults with experts in
the various design aspects to access the expertise needed to detail a project

A property located on a bank of the East River and in a densely developed residential and commercial area, had its work cut out for it from an environmental remediation standpoint. The mission was to clean up the land and ultimately make one puzzle piece to a larger urban revitalization project that would be redeveloped as a public library and park ranger station.
