It didn’t bag a Renewal Award, but it did do this: Removed tons of mine waste and eliminated a source of mine drainage runoff that had infiltrated existing storm water systems and local streams and creeks. In the final analysis, the project team achieved its goal to complete the reclamation and then sell the property for residential redevelopment.
